Adobe Uses New "Open Source" Video Player on its Corporate Site in Industry First

SAN JOSE, CA -- Software giant Adobe Systems is using its new open source media framework player on Adobe.TV, the company's new video site.  The site launched in September.

Adobe, Akamai, and others have been working on a open source video player, which is easily customized and deployed.

The implementation of the player on Adobe.TV is the industry's first.  The back-end is powered by Coldfusion 9.

We caught up with Adobe's Bob Donlon last month at the Streaming Media West conference in San Jose.

In addition to explaining the infrastructure of Adobe.TV, Donlon gives a great overview of the power of online video for corporations for internal and external communications.

I've pasted the open source player below.

Earlier today, we published a story about how Intel is using video for corporate communications.

I have just looked at it on the Adobe site and I must say it does look good. It won't be cheap though.

Hi Guy's,
we need to work AGAINST locking up content inside of proprietary media “players” and solve the codec issues in HTML 5. MPEG, MP4, and other media video files need to be accessible and playable in their native formats.

Seems to be really buggy this player so far. Your example, the intel video, does not play at all. The one at http://www.opensourcemediaframework.com/ shows severap exceptions when you go there with the Flash debug player. Looks like this is a low priority project for Adobe.

Nice to know that Adobe is working hard to ensure that in the future we’ll still be addicted to Flash.

Seriously, we need to work AGAINST locking up content inside of proprietary media “players” and solve the codec issues in HTML 5. MPEG, MP4, and other media video files need to be accessible and playable in their native formats.

I have read the article which deals with the market of the Track mobile phones user and the proper usage of the Google analytics. This is good product which is best use for the proper search outcomes.
