Brightcove, the video platform services company, which has established a reputation for providing video services for big publishers and business enterprises, is launching a slimmed down version of its solution priced at $99 per month
Separately, the company is now providing support for native iPhone application development. The new offering is called Brightcove 4.
I sat down with Brigthcove CEO Jeremy Allaire for this overview of the new offering. Quite an informative chat about video on the iPhone and the development opportunities beyond Quicktime.
More on this development by Ryan Lawler at NewTeeVee and the take by Erick Schoneld at TechCrunch.

As a competitive solution in this space, I feel obligated to mention that this move(BC Express) makes us feel two things:
a) Scared: it’s one thing to compete with the likes of Fliqz, VMIX, et al. It’s quite another to now have Brightcove as a direct competitor.
b) Validated: it’s awesome to see the leader in this marketplace recognize a tremendous opportunity in the mid-tail/professional content space.
