Social media is a powerful marketing tool, but most social media posts fade quickly.

According to data culled by Edelman Digital's social media expert Steve Rubel, about 92% of retweets happen in the first hour if they happen at all. Likewise, Facebook posts receive the most comments in the first few hours, Rubel says citing Vitrue data.
