ANAHEIM, CA –Thursday at VidCon, Blip.tv announced that they will start producing their own original content with the launch of Blip Studios.

According to a press release, the company will use Blip Studios to “work directly with brands, talent and independent producers of web video to develop and produce high quality, original web series which Blip will monetize and distribute across their distribution platforms.”  Steve Woolf, former VP of Content for Blip, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Content and President of Blip Studios.

In this interview with Beet.TV at the Blip Industry Party at VidCon, Woolf explains that, “For a long time Blip has just been kind of a platform and an aggregator of content and we’ve had non-exclusive relationships with our content creators.  Now we’re moving into an area where we’re going to create and own some of our content.”

In addition to the launch of Blip Studios, the company also announced three shows that they signed to exclusive sales and distribution contracts.
