AUSTIN — Justine "iJustine" Ezarik, a Web video celebrity and producer, has leveraged her skills and enormous network of followers into a cottage industry of branded content for major companies, including GE, Intel, and Nikon, she told Beet.TV at SXSW last weekend.
While her business is coming along, the challenges in creating and monetizing branded content can be daunting, she says.
She explains that the branded clips must be relevant to her following, which is principally teenage girls.
She also says that setting a value on her work, outside of a cost-per-impression formula, can be a hard sell with sponsors.
