Visitors to video sites now exceeds users of Web-based e-mail, according to a report released today by The Nielsen Company. The study reports on monthly unique visits to various Web sites and online applications.
Nielsen released a report which tracks Web use in the U.S. since 2003. The numbers combine home and work use. Search sites remain the most visited with social networks rising fast.
Video passed e-mail monthly unique visits in 2007. This number is not the total number of e-mails sent or received or videos watch, just monthly visits to the e-mail or video sites. More on the Nielsen blog.
Not surprisingly, video views have shown dramatic increased since 2003. More details below:
