YouTube Launches Site for U.S. Congress -- Congressmen McKeon and Israel Get Kudos

WASHINGTON, D.C. --  YouTube has just launched a site for all members of the U.S. Congress.  The New York Times reported on the development today.   I am at the Google offices in Washington where I just interviewed Steve Grove who heads politics and news for YouTube.  We spoke about a number of subjects including the new congressional channels. We will publish the interview tomorrow.

While most of the content up on legislators is floor speeches, some members of Congress are doing some unique efforts.  Steve told me that Congressmen Buck McKeon of California and Steve Israel of New York are doing "unique" content. We've posted here a video of Congressman Israel's visit to Afghanistan.

Lots more to come from this event.
