TimesPeople, the social network where registered users share their interests, will become fully integrated into the NYTimes.com tonight as it becomes part of the site’s navigation.  Also, it will work with all browsers. Previously, it worked only as a Firefox plug-in.

Here’s an image of the soon to be updated Times toolbar with TimesPeople in the right on the navigation bar.

In June, we reported
on TimesPeople, with the help of our colleague Caroline McCarthy of
CNET News.com.  We have reposted the video here.

Last week we reported on The Wall Street Journal’s new community functions launched as part of the redesign. Newspapers are getting very social these days.  It will be interesting to see who hangs out.  The number of participants in TimesPeople is not being disclosed, a Times spokeswoman said.

Coverage tonight on this by Silicon Alley Insider and Mashable.
