ABC Television has just introduced a sharable video player for short-form segments from its entertainment line-up. I've posted the player here on Beet.TV. Later tonight the company will introduce a revamped video player, with a greatly enhanced user interface.
Earlier today in New York at the OMMA conference, I interviewed Albert Cheng, Executive Vice President of Digital Media for Disney-ABC Television Group. The interview is below:
Although the introduction of sharable player for short form video is not new, NBC and others have had them for some time, the evolution of the highly regarded, Move Networks-powered video player, is one to watch.
More on Albert at the conference reported by the Silicon Alley Insider's Peter Kafka.
Here's paidContent's David Kaplan's interview with Albert.

Yeah I would say the new player has new navigation features, such as a “two-click rule” in order to get to a video and a full screen without browser borders. It also should be easier for any site to embed the player, Cheng promises. Also, the player has always had one national sponsor who has three- to four spots running, depending on the length of the episode.
