As the explosion of streaming video makes huge bandwidth demands, the business of content delivery networks (CDN's) is booming and new players, large and small, are moving quickly.

Just yesterday VeriSign, which is getting in the CDN business in a big way, announced a deal to distribute BBC video.

Level 3, a big backbone broadband carrier, launched during the telecom boom year of 1998, is making a number acquistions in the space.  Just a few moments ago, the company announced the $45 mllion purchase of Dublin-based Servcast.

Above is my interview with Level 3's Lisa Guillaume.
