Techmeme's Gabe Rivera Reveals His Secret Sauce in Rare TV Interview.......Scoble Says Techmeme is "Less Noisy" than Digg

Gabe Rivera, 34, working completely on his own in his home in the Bay Area, has created Techmeme, what many bloggers, reporters and editors consider the most important tech news aggregation site.  And, he is about to transform the news and blogging world with new aggregation sites for national politics, gossip and major league baseball.

In some ways, this similar to Google News, in that it is an automated system to track and index news of the moment.  However, unlike Google News, Techmeme pulls and organizes many sources of news, notably a rich variety of blogs.

I met Gabe in LA earlier this month where he agreed to speak with Beet.TV in a rare television interview.  In our chat, explains a little bit of his secret sauce:  Headlines are important.  Also key is the site's function as an "automated link blogger" -- organizing stories that are being linked to in the blogesphere. (Scoble explains this below.)

In creating this post, I've ask for comments on Techmeme from top bloggers.  Here's what they told Beet.TV

Dan Farber Editor-in-Chief, ZDNet

Better than any other site, TechMeme helps bring some order out of the chaos of content on Web 2.0 topics.

Peter Rojas, Editor-in-Chief, Engadget

Let's just say that TechMeme is one of the first sites I check in the

morning when I get up -- and I keep checking it all day until I go to

bed.

Robert Scoble, Scobleizer

TechMeme looks at more than a thousand of the world’s top tech bloggers and measures their attention behavior – what they blog about, link to, comment on – and presents that as the most interesting news of the minute (it updates every few minutes). I find it invaluable in keeping up with what’s hot in the technology industry and it has less noise than, say, Digg, which is counting votes from more than a million participants. TechMeme is the only site I feel compelled to check every few hours.

Gabe told me he does everything himself except his taxes.  He is planning on hiring soon, though.  That's a good idea, I mean can he really do this all alone?

The one thing that bugs him are the legions of angry bloggers who don't make it onto Techmeme.

They are all less noisy if you turn the sound down!

I can't wait to get an iphone 3G. But all files I have are not in Iphone supported formats. So I think software TuneCab will help me to convert them to iPhone. Did anybody try it?

Hi, good post. I have been wondering about this issue,so thanks for posting. I’ll definitely be coming back to your site.

Hi, you have a nice site. Really good job! Respect :)

The predecessor of Video Art Holland is Chick, a contact magazine issued in the Netherlands in late 1960s. Later the same enterprise also began to publish the pornographic magazine Chick Extreme. Their greatest success was with the magazine Seventeen that was begun to be published in 1979. Its name was reflecting the fact that the preferred models for the magazine were at seventeen years of age or sixteen at youngest. However, as it featured models who were minors as per the legislation of many countries, Seventeen faced difficulty in worldwide distribution. For example, in the U. S., Seventeen materials were prohibitedfree leagal teen sex moveisThe film centers on high school student Veronica Sawyer (Ryder).Veronica is part of the most popular clique in Westerburg High School (named for singer Paul Westerberg) in Sherwood, a fictional suburb of Columbus, Ohio. In addition to Veronica, the clique is composed of three pretty and wealthy girls with the same first name: Heather Chandler (Walker), Heather Duke (Doherty), and Heather McNamara (Falk). These mean-spirited girls play croquet with each other, use their own unique slang, and even purge together. Even though they are adored by most other students, the Heathers despise everyone outside their clique and continuously bully socially awkward classmates such as the overweight Martha "Dumptruck" Dunnstock

However recently Cell Porn is becoming more popular and is creating a problem for mobile Carriers who have been waiting for suitable age verification software to be in place before allowing its customers to view cell porn sites.

New aggregation sites, Andy? If memory serves, memorandum.com predates techmeme.com and wesmirch.com and ballbug.com have been up and running for quite some time now.
