Pic_youtubelogo_123x63We read with interest a report that YouTube is sharing revenue with video creators, like the Revver model, and that advertising will be inserted into the video.  There has been quite a lot of buzz about this today in the blogesphere.

This is not happening, yet. We reached a YouTube spokesperson who told Beet.TV that a number of avenues are being explored.

"We are actively exploring a variety of ways to help the community to monetize content, and expect to announce something in the coming months that users will embrace.  At the end of the day, it’s all about the community and we will continue to do what we can to make the user experience a prosperous one."

Update: 5:10 p.m. — Looks like the YouTube crew might not need to rush to monetize  yet with the extraordinary income at parent Google which just announced a staggering profit growth of 69 percent for the last quarter.  Wow.  Here’s a very good story about the success at Google by Paul La Monica at CNNfn.com
