The Essential Guide: Beet Retreat ’16 Miami Beach

I am super excited that you are joining us for the Beet Retreat.  It will be an amazing event.  Let me fill you in on a few things. More details to follow, but here are the basics:

Timing and Event Flow:


The event kicks off with our keynote sessions on Wednesday, November 16 at 3:00 and ends at 6:00. This is followed by a reception at the hotel pool bar at 7:00 and a seated dinner at 8:00 a nearby restaurant.


We begin with a networking breakfast at 8:00 followed by sessions from 9-12:30, a seated lunch and sessions from 2:00 – 5:00.   Followed by reception at the bar at 7:30 and gala closing dinner at 8:30.


At 7:30, we hold our annual seaside run/walk fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support our friend Tracy Scheppach, her son Ryan and their heroic cause.  See our coverage of our run/walk  at the Retreat last November in Fort Lauderdale.

The event concludes with a group breakfast session from 9:00 – 10:30.

Please Note:  I hope everyone stays on Thursday night for our very special gala celebration, the morning run/walk and our breakfast program.   If you need to leave on Thursday, please plan on taking an evening flight home, but only if you must!

Some speakers are making this a family vacation:  We are pleased to welcome spouses/partners to the two dinners.  And several folks are staying for the weekend.   Kathy and I will be there through Sunday.  The party must go on!

Hotel Rooms:

The event takes place at the Royal Palm South Beach.  It is a very comfortable and well appointed hotel.  It is a new Starwood property.  The pool and beach are lovely.  Good gym too.

We have a block of rooms which are discounted at $159 per night plus taxes and fees. Closest airport is Miami International.  Fort Lauderdale Airport is about an hour’s drive.   We are not providing transportation from the airport.  Traffic in South Florida can be heavy, so give yourself some extra time when planning.

Guests, Registration & Cancellations Policy:

We will have just 35 participants.   We will have room for 15 others who are either business associates of the speakers or those who will observe the sessions.  Pricing for non-speaking attendees is $3500.

Once you agree to join us, you are in! We will send you a secure invoice which can be remitted by check, credit card or bank wire.  We ask that you remit the registration  promptly, and no later than September 15.  We will offer a full refund on cancellations made by October 15.  After that date, there is no cancellation but a credit of $3500 will be available for the next Beet Retreat or applied against another Beet event or sponsorship.
