VodPod, the San Francisco-based start-up that creates widgets of multiple video players, has doubled the number of video sites from which users pull clips to 3500 over the past six months.   VodPod users have organized some 1 million videos into widgets.

Mark Hall, CEO of VodPod, told me on Sunday that most of this increase can be attributed to a Firefox extension which provides a simple way to pull and organize videos.

On Monday, VodPod is going to unveil a site redesign.

In December, I interviewed Mark and have republished the interview and demo today.

Update:  My colleague Liz Gannes over at NewTeeVee has an explanation of VodPod and its functionality and value.
