Ryan Tate over at Gawker reports that AOL is in discussions to acquire the big social media/tech blog Mashable.
We don’t know what to make of this, but 24-year old Pete Cashmore has created quite a franchise with very little outside help.
In Hollywood in June of 2008, I spoke with the young Scotsman about his site and its future.
He told me the blog has always been cash-flow positive and he has not taken outside investment.
