Bolstered by its work developing formats for online video, VivaKi's The Pool is now working to develop best practices and formats for tablets, said Beth Doyle, Innovations Director at VivaKi during this interview with Beet.TV.

Issues to consider for tablet ads are whether tablet ad formats should be interstitials, banners, pre-rolls or something else, Doyle said. Other factors are whether tablet users would move, shake or tap the tablet ad, and then whether the ad would enable sharing, watching or learning more.

The Pool helped develop the ASq format for online video that lets viewers choose which of a handful of ads to watch, and Doyle said it performed 200% better than pre-roll spots.
