COLOGNE — Ooyala, the big video services company that bought European video adtech firm Videoplaza a year ago, is finding success with its anti-ad blocking software, says Rags Gupta, GM of Ooyala, EMEA, in this interview with Beet.TV

He says the European roots of Videoplaza, having addressed this issue when it first arose in Germany, has given the company an early mover advantage in solving the problem. The solution has lead to profitability vs.  loss for at least one big (unnamed) customer.

Whilst the solution works on desktop, where ad blocking is prevalent, the prospects for mobile and upcoming blocking utility in the new Apple iOS 9 is not yet know, Gupta explains.
