CANNES – Magine promises TV delivery without cable, over the Internet. The Stockholm-based company gives subscribers access to cloud-based TV service. Beet.TV interviewed Michael Werner, chairman of Magine, at MIPTV.

“We have developed Magine into a fully-integrated TV service,” Werner says. “We’re meaning to replace your cable network.”

With Magine, watching television becomes a dynamic experience. In addition to watching live broadcasts, an archive of programs is also available. Equipped with DVR-like capabilities, Magine users can watch previously-aired programs, which are stored in the cloud, from start to finish.

Magine has also created a guide and discovery service to facilitate television watching. This installation-free, software-based business-to-consumer service allows customers to subscribe without annual contracts and aims to be a consumer brand, Werner says.

The platform is live in Sweden.  Read more about Magine in this article on TechCrunch.
