OFF THE COAST OF SPLIT, CROATIA — Aboard a small cabin cruiser for a day of beach going and lunching around the small islands off of Split, your correspondent and his family were fortunate to observe a group of 15 or so dolphins swimming in the middle of the channel, about two miles from the coast.

The boat's captain told us that the dolphin sighting in this part of the Adriatic Sea occurred from time to time but were not common.

After the dolphin sighting and a swim, we motored to the island Brac for lunch in the town of Povlja.

Thanks to the concierge the Le Meridien Lav for hooking up us for this little journey.

This video was shot this video on September 1 and published today.  Production note: this was shot on my Canon PowerShot digital camera, really should have had my Canon Vixia camcorder.

And, Croatia is really awesome.  Highly recommend going.
