Although the Olympics ended this weekend, much of the online material from the Games will continue to be available through December 31 on NBCOlympics.com, a site hosted by Microsoft’s MSN, Beet.TV has learned.

Not just highlights, but most of the on-demand
content will be available, a Microsoft spokesperson told me earlier
today.

There’s been a lot of reporting
about the disappointing loss for the NBC Olypmics online video efforts. But, hey,  maybe it’s a
marathon?

Earlier this month I spoke with Eric Schmidt, director of media and advertising evangelism at Microsoft. He is a key  Redmond exec working with
NBC Sports. He came to Beet.TV for this little demo.  We republished it tonight.

Update: 8.28:  For a comprehensive look at global online video consumption of the Olympics, check out this report by Janko Roettgers over at NewTeeVee.  Janko titles his report "Final Tally," but there will be more viewing come, at least on NBCOlympics.com.
