The New York Times has moved into a Renzo Piano-designed building on Eighth Avenue. Begun in April, the move is now complete.
Beyond the new design and functionality of the place, which is reviewed today in the paper, the new building has an integrated newsroom. It combines the "print" editorial operations, previously in the paper's headquarters on West 43rd Street, and the digital news operations, which were some 7 blocks away.
A video about the integrated newsroom has been posted to The New York Times Company corporate Web Site.
Explaining the significance of the integration is Jim Roberts, Editor of Digital News and Jon Landman, Deputy Managing Editor.
I am proud to say that this piece and three others about the building have been produced by Beet Media for The New York Times Company.

Pretty good post, thank you for sharing.I'll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon.
Hi,
I heard that integrated newsrooms have taken the UK newspaper market, one of the world's most dynamic, by storm. National quality papers have led the charge with the regional press right on their heels, experimenting with multimedia journalism and transforming the newsroom culture to fit the digital age. In combination with these transformations, UK newspapers have conserved resources and minimized expenditure, continuing to provide their readers with top-quality journalism in spite of the global financial crisis.
Uh, where's the web site editor (whom you recently interviewed) in this video? I'm guessing she's got something to do with what's going on the NYT site?
Nice video. The NYT new sight looks amzazing! I wish I worked there!
