The much heralded advent of "TV Everywhere." the techology that allows cable subscribers to use their credentials to access programming on wireless devices has stumbled, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Problems include a range of different Apps for for shows and providers.  The biggest issue is around authentication, the need for subscribers to enter user ID information.

Last year, we spoke with Adobe's Todd Greenbaum about this company's efforts around authentication with it's product Adobe Pass.  The product allows users to automatically sign in on a mobile device at home without entering credentials.  We have republished that interview.

The product won a primetimee Emmy technology award last year.
