Vook, a company which publishes books in a multimedia mix of text and video for the iPhone and on the browser, is quickly ramping-up production with 250 new titles planned for this year, according to founder and CEO Brad Inman.
The company, which is collaborating with Simon & Schuster and other book publishers, announced today its first project with a magazine publisher in Hachette's Woman's Day for a "CookVook.' Here's a story in Mediaweek.
Last week, we sat down with Brad for an update on the company and its platform. He said the company is introducing a publishing content management system called "Mother Vook" which will make the production of Vooks seamless for authors and publishers.
The Emeryville, California-based Vook launched in September with considerable fanfare, including a page one New York Times story.
