Great to see the success and recognition for CHOW, the San Francisco-based foodie site created on a shoestring  by Jane Goldman as a print publication back in 1997 then sold to CNET in 2006 when it launched online.

The site has been nominated for a National Magazine Award in the online category where it is up against Time, Business Week, New York magazine and National Geographic for best site with over 1,000,000 million unique monthly viewers.

For the Webby, CHOW is nominated in the lifestyle category.

Jane is the former editor of the Industry Standard, the essential weekly publication of the tech/Web bubble of the late nineties.

Now the property is part of CBS Interactive. Jane is still editor of CHOW and oversees the division's other lifestyle sites.

Way back in the fall of 2006, Jane came by for this interview.  She shares her perspective of the value of video in service journalism.

Borscht Cures Hangovers!

I've pasted below a segment we did in late 2006 with Aida Mollenkamp who fill us in on holiday entertaining and a big scoop that borscht is good therapy for a hangover

Congrats to Jane and the team at CHOW.
