BERLIN — "Video is the future," says Sergio Cardoso, EMEA Account Director at Kaltura, "and the way that we are enhancing teaching and learning is that we are giving the ability for students…and teachers to share [the learning] experience via video."  At the Online Educa conference in Berlin, Cardoso spoke with us about Kaltura’s new educational initiatives and how they are changing the face of learning.

Kaltura is now providing out-of-the-box solutions for integrating video into the learning experience.  Plug-ins that easily integrate into learning management systems like Blackboard, Moodle and Sakai give students, teachers, staff, lecturers and others the ability to easily share video as part of assignments, learning tools, resources and more.  An open API makes it easy for educational systems that don’t already have out-of-the-box solutions to easily integrate Kaltura as well.

Cardoso explains that the integration of video into education gives teachers and students "the ability to go that extra step."  Video also serves as a tool for accessing content a student may have missed, or reviewing educational materials from any place at any time.
