AMSTERDAM — Given the growth in second-screen applications, expect broadcasters to build in tools and technology to deliver real-time graphics, text and information with their shows in the coming months. That’s the prediction of Anthony Rose, Co-Founder and CTO at Zeebox, a companion TV app, in an interview with Beet.TV from IBC at the 2nd Screen Summit.

“In the next year you will see an explosion of TV shows with broadcast graphics overlaid but with real-time audience feedback from Twitter APIs and Facebook APIs, but also votes and polls and feedbacks,” he says in this interview. This type of participation TV will enable new revenue models based on audience interaction, he adds. Look for more integrations into the shows, and for broadcasters to implement the necessary systems to deliver these capabilities.
