Verizon FiOS recently increased bandwidth speed options of up to 300 Mbps in response to consumer demand for video streaming, says Maitreyi Krishnaswamy, Director of Interactive Video Services at FIOS TV in an interview with Beet.TV.
“The consumption of video through more IP-connected devices is casuing the huge demand in bandwidth,” she explains.
What’s interesting is that the demand is coming from average consumers who now expect high-quality streaming in every day life so they can watch video on their phones, for instance. Two years ago, only the gamers demanded so much bandwidth, she tells us in this video interview.
