Always good to get Walt Mossberg's take on new gear. Tonight the Wall Street Journal published his print and video review of the new Apple 3G iPhone. We've embedded the video here.
Walt's take is mixed: Much improved Internet speed on the the 3G
network but weak battery life. He also says that while the price of
the entry level phone is $199, the data plan is much more expensive
than for the original iPhone, bringing the cost over the life of the
contract higher.
He also says that the new integration with Microsoft Exchange for Outlook mail and contacts works really well -- but points out that the current iPhone can be updated similarly.
Should people really be camped out in the street waiting to buy the new iPhone on Friday?

Hi Guy's,
As I understand 3G can be turned off? Does this then mean you could surf using 2.5G generally, and get better battery / talk life overall - similar to iPhone 1.0? Cheers?
Hi Guy's,
It is a very nice feature, as long as the text you’re typing is English. Having to text a lot on a different language, the auto correct feature is extremely annoying – slows you down – as it pops up for almost every single word you type.
