LAS VEGAS — Don’t go expecting any major bumps in the economic road in the year ahead. The CEO of the world’s biggest ad agency holding group, WPP, says 2015 will have a familiar look.

“Overall, I see ’15 being slightly better than ’14,” Sir Martin Sorrell tells Beet.TV in this video interview.

“This time last year, we were probably (at) about 3% growth in our budgets – now we’re talking about over-3%.”

Sorrell has become a keen reader of economic tea leaves, his advertising clients providing a useful barometer as to the state of matters. He says falling oil prices will increase household disposable income while capital-intensive 3D and robotic manufacturing techniques will put US factory floors at an advantage.

But, in all the technology he witnessed at the Consumer Electronics Show, Sorrell sees no big new developments: “(It’s) a continuation of the trends that we’ve seen. Things are becoming better, faster, more sophisticated and cheaper.”

He was interviewed for Beet.TV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
