AMSTERDAM — Jon Dahl, co-founder of the San Francisco-based Zencoder, a cloud-based encoding/transcoding company which was recently acquired by Brightcove, says that cloud-based transcoding of video files will represent 90 percent of the market in five to ten years, up from 5-10 percent today.

We interviewed him at the IBC conference.

Zencoder works primarily with Amazon EC2 as its cloud platform and is beginning to work with Google's newly launched Google Compute Engine, he says in this interview.
