SUNNYVALE, CA -- Ranked by far as the biggest news site, Yahoo lacks a distinct voice and identity, but that is changing says Jai Singh, Editor-in-Chief of the Yahoo Media Network in this interview with Beet.TV
Singh points to changes including the hiring of "brand" journalists including Virginia Heffernan from The New York Times, hiring a White House correspondent reorganizing the giant site's pages.
Wire stories, long a mainstay of news on Yahoo!, have become a commodity, Singh says.
Singh joined Yahoo in May from the Huffington Post where he served as managing editor. He was the founding editor of CNET News.com.
We spoke with him last week at Yahoo's headquarters in Sunnyvale.
