SAN FRANCISCO – As part of its continued expansion into the United Kingdom and Europe, video ad technology provider Adap.tv has hired ad veteran Brian Fitzpatrick to grow relationships with agencies, ad networks and publishers, Adap.tv Sean Crawford, VP of international business, told Beet.TV in an interview at OMMA Video last month.

Crawford said that since Adap.tv opened its U.K. offices in February and launched its marketplace there, the company has grown its European business by 300%. Fitzpatrick joins Adap.tv from MIG, a division of holding company WPP, and he'll be tasked with building on that growth and extending Adap.tv's reach into more agencies.

The opportunity in Europe is huge, Crawford said. As video consumption rises, advertisers are spending more. He expects online video ad spending in the U.K. to double next year from its current $150 million yearly haul. Adap.tv said earlier this year that it delivered more than 74 million monthly video views in the U.K., according to comScore.
