Facebook is inevitably moving towards becoming a major e-commerce destination, says Leena Rao, a reporter with TechCrunch.
While many marketers are using Facebook, Zynga, and other social sites as branding platforms — and others or dispensing virtual payments — Facebook will become a a place where goods and services are bought and sold.
Leena doesn't give a time frame, but says it's going to happen.
On Sunday, she reported on a big branding deal between Zynga and 7-Eleven.
I interviewed her on Sunday afternoon in Manhattan during the set-up of the TechCrunch Disrupt conference.
This morning, Russian Facebook investor Yuri Milner spoke about the global opportunities for Facebook.
