Veteran rights management technology firm Thought Equity Motion has been busy this year, signing deals with both the NCAA and the BBC.

I sat down with the company’s CEO Kevin Schaff at the recent NAB show to learn more about how content companies, programmers, and networks are using Thought Equity’s tools to better manage and monetize their metadata, rights, and video archives.

Most recently, the NCAA started to use the technology for its NCAA Vault to index all the championship games in its archives so fans can search for individual plays and highlights.

Under the deal with BBC Motion Gallery, Thought Equity and BBC now help support each others international sales efforts, and BBC Motion Gallery is using Thought Equity to improve video search and navigation on its site.
