Here is my sit down with Blip.tv co-founders Mike Hudack and Dina Kaplan. We caught up last week, after there news event at their company's downtown Manhattan office.
A couple of big takeways are the deal with YouTube. Most, most significantly is how Blip.tv is distribtuting very high quality, large video files to platforms including Roku, Tivo and Verizon Fios.
The reality is the Web video is moving to high quality, TV-like viewing experience. For all of us producing content, it's time to go high end with our file format and files. Mike explains why.

Set your video apart from the others! Hire professional voice over talent.
Great interview! This is really cool but the one concern I have is how they compress the HD video and stream it properly over the web. Yea, I know lot's of HD out there already but that growth will continue to tax existing bandwidth and a lot of the HD stuff I watch online gets choked up temporarily and becomes annoying. Still think there's a better spot for 480p online right now.
Are they saying the real value here is for them to broadcast your videos into mainstream cable or TV? It sound like Blip is shadowing part of the CurrentTV model?
