Cnnlive
Viewing of live online video streams of Hurricane Gustav has reached a record 1.4 million  streams since midnight, as of 4 p.m. EDT, a CNN spokesperson has told Beet.TV.  This sets a record for the most live video streams in one day at CNN.

Cnn_video_logo The natural disaster and dramatic presidential campaign has been driving a great deal of traffic to cnn.com.  According to a statement issued by CNN a few minutes ago:

"Friday, Aug. 29 represented one of the year’s highest traffic days for CNN.com, as well as its highest traffic day during the week of the Democratic National convention, generating more than 77 million page views and attracting 10 million unique visitors.  CNN.com also served an impressive 4.9 million video streams, including nearly 529,000 live streams served through CNN.com Live."
